Academy Museum to honor Julia Roberts at 2nd annual gala

Julia Roberts is going to be honored by the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures at it’s second annual gala in October, the Organization said on Friday. The Oscar-winner will be presented with Incon award in recognition of it’s significant global cultural impact of her career.

“Over the course her expansive and renowned career in Hollywood films, Roberts has embodied iconic characters and memorable roles” said Jacqueline Stewart. The president of the academy museum, in a statement said “We are thrilled to be honoring her contined excellence in the Industry, contribution to the arts. Robers won an Oscar award in 2000 for her leading role in “Erin Brockovich”.

The Galaserves as fundraiser for the museum’s programming and educational initiatives. Last year’s inaugural event raised $11m. The museum also unveiled a starry Gala Host Comitte which includes Leonardo Dicaprio, Robert Duvall, Regina Hall, Ariana DeBose and Gwyneth Paltrow and others.
